Kia ora, I am the teacher of Tupu Room, Room 3. I have returned to Avon School after completing a Graduate Diploma in Inclusive Education in 2024.
I am applying my new found knowledge to make sure that the diverse needs of students are considered when interacting with them. I use a collaborative approach including whānau, student voice and our teaching team when solving problems and setting goals to ensure the success of all students. Academic success and well being are equally important in Tupu Room.
I am always happy to help and look forward to meeting you all again.
Malo e lelei! My name is Lesley, and after spending around 20 years involved in aviation, hospitality, and various roles within the humanitarian sector, I was inspired by my children’s journey into school that I decided to transition into education.
Now, I have the privilege of walking alongside Avon School's tamariki in the Years 5-6.
I’m passionate about fostering growth and learning in these young minds. Feel free to stop by Māhuri Room and say hello on your next visit!
