We were very fortunate to be invited by our Hāpū Ahitahi to the blessing of two kiwi at Whakaahurangi Marae.
We were able to meet the kiwi and learn a lot about their care.
What an amazing experience to see these amazing native birds up close!
During 2024 we helped the Stratford Council to collect and save 135,000 lids from going into the landfill.
We came 2nd in the competition and received a $500 voucher to spend in Stratford!
Thanks for all the whānau and community members who helped us to be so successful!
We held our Gala on Friday April 11th.
What an amazing event and thanks to our local community we were able to raise $2200 to support the upgrade to our school hall.
Our senior classes attended the Matatini event in Ngāmotu. What an amazing experience.
27th February
Senior classes worked with Justin from St John's to learn basic first aid skills.
3rd March
We did our annual rubbish audit to check that our recycling and rubbish practises are still on track. We continue to recycle 3 wheelie bins to only one wheelie bin of rubbish fortnightly!
14th March
Our whole school worked with Cecilie (Swim Safe Taranaki) to understand the importance of being safe at the river.
18th March
Our junior classes attended the annual sports day in Ngaere. Was a cold day but they had lots of fun!
April 8th
On the 1st of April we had three teams attend the Kaponga Soccer tournament. We had a Year 5-6 team and two Year 7-8 team represent Avon School.
It was a great event and was a real challenge when the two senior teams had to compete against each other.
